High Energy Systems to Celebrate Grand Opening of New Manufacturing Facility in Bassfield on May 29
BASSFIELD, Miss. — High Energy Systems will officially celebrate the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in Bassfield, Mississippi, on Friday May 29 at 10:00 am, marking a significant investment in rural workforce development and American manufacturing.
Located at 824 Bass-Burkett Road in Bassfield, the new facility represents the next chapter for High Energy Systems, a Mississippi-based manufacturing company formed with a mission to create jobs, strengthen domestic production, and help restore industrial capability across the state. Building on earlier momentum—including a previous expansion connected to High Energy Sports, in Columbia, in 2024 — the company continues to broaden its footprint and impact across Mississippi.
Founded by Mississippi native and retired Army Major General Buff Blount, and former Army Sgt. Mike Berge, High Energy Systems, was established with a clear objective: to bring manufacturing back to Mississippi while building a workforce pipeline that supports long-term economic growth in rural communities.
The Bassfield facility will serve as a multi-functional production hub, housing both cut-and-sew manufacturing operations and advanced machining capabilities. The company is also investing in precision manufacturing technologies, including laser cutting and 3D printing, positioning the facility at the forefront of modern industrial production.
In addition to production, the site will feature dedicated training programs designed to equip local workers with practical, industry-ready skills and create a direct path to employment in advanced manufacturing.
“The new operation reflects a broader commitment to rebuilding skilled labor in Mississippi while creating sustainable opportunities for the local workforce,” said Mike Berge, CEO.
“This facility is about more than manufacturing—it is about investing in people, creating opportunity, and rebuilding the kind of skilled workforce that once defined communities across Mississippi. Bassfield is the right place to continue that work,” said Buff Blount, Chairman.
The May 29 grand opening will offer community members, local leaders, and industry partners an opportunity to tour the new facility, learn more about High Energy Systems’ manufacturing capabilities, and see firsthand how the company plans to support workforce development and economic growth in the region.
The launch of the Bassfield facility underscores High Energy Systems’ long-term vision of combining precision manufacturing, workforce training, and industrial reinvestment to strengthen Mississippi’s role in American manufacturing.
